While it’s nearly impossible to sum up a decade of sweat, smiles and happiness, but I’m going to try!
2020 isn’t the year any of us imagined it would be and closing our first studio after 10 incredible years wasn’t in our plans, but we have no other options.
We opened our first studio in Palo Alto on my 29th birthday. I had just left my comfortable job and with my work visa in hand, decided to start a small business with no experience and no fitness background! We are so incredible grateful for the financial help and moral support of Rob and my parents, my sister Molly and her husband Brent, and the amazing partners and investors – Jess G, Jess B and Heather & David.
I knew that uforia was going to be hard work. What I didn’t know was that it was going to change my life in so many ways. In the past 10 years, I’ve met some of the most amazing, talented and beautiful people. I’ve seen friendships form, I’ve witnessed relationships start and marriages happen. I’ve watched clients throughout their pregnancy, continue to slay it on the dance floor and then watch their kids sit in the lobby waiting for their moms to finish class. I’ve had the opportunity of working with so many talented and brilliant co-workers. I’ve witnessed so many fitness careers develop and launch and grow. And I’ve met the most amazing clients. If you asked me 10 years ago what uforia would become, there is NO WAY IN HELL I would imagine it to be the community, the people and the fun that I hoped it would back in 2011.

While Palo Alto will close, we’re still excited about the future and our online and on-demand classes are growing. If I’ve learned anything in the past 10 years, it’s that with an amazing team and a really solid product, we’ll be able to adapt and survive!
