“The subterranean room was dark. The lights: bold, bright, softly energizing. Jarreau was calm and preppin the playlist. I was curious and intrigued by this cave-like cycling bunker. Why were the lights off? What’s with the raised platform against the wall? Would I even break a sweat? As the music started playing and Jarreau kicked into gear, well, kicked us into gear, everything started coming together. As my body and muscles warmed up the steady rhythm of music penetrating the room, Jarreau offered motivation and technical tips to facilitate a seamless cycling experience. The Upper body weights kicked it up a notch. My muscles burned in harmony with the music. The women across the room cheered as Jarreau lifted himself into the air between 2 bikes and pseudo-cycled himself like a madman. It was fresh, powerful, and invigorating. The dark room only pushed me harder into my cycling body, my animal mind. The black lights like stars cheering me on from another galaxy. And the music…let’s just say Jarreau knows a thing or two about playing spin DJ. I’d never been so proud of the few drops of sweat that formed into a meager puddle under my bike. That’s right, I made it rain at uforia. I’ll be back.”
