New GRIT Rockstar Meli tells us about how she fell in love with fitness, where to find the best chocolate in Palo Alto, & how she fuels up before class!
Meet Meli:
I was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela! I discovered Fitness when I moved to the USA and fell in love with Zumba®. I had always loved dancing but I discovered I LOVED TO EXERCISE! After the instructor training, my life changed. I was studying Audio, Video and Graphic Design but I knew the only thing I wanted to do was make people move! After finishing my BFA degree, I decided to go after all the fitness certifications to make me a better instructor. To me, fitness is essential to anyone’s life and I love making people smile and move! It’s a lifestyle.

What do you do in your spare time?
I really don’t have spare time between programming for clients, choreographing for trainings, and teaching classes… but my “ideal” day off would be filled with Pixar movies and hazelnut ice cream.
Where do you find your uforia?
When your soul syncs with the music and the rest is magic.
What are your favorite pre/post workout snacks?
Fueling up pre-workout is important for me. Before class I either drink a pre-workout formula that gives me enough carbs for fuel or I eat some type of complex carb. After class, I typically have a protein shake.
Favorite Song At The Moment?
Impossible to answer! I have SO many! I like music from all over the world. Anything that has a good beat and makes me move.
