all about Us: Jackie

Hiking in the Atacama Desert in Chile

You’ve probably seen her bouncing around the spin studio, but if you haven’t, we recommend you pay Jackie’s class a visit. She may be petite, but she delivers a serious (and seriously fun) Revolutions workout. Her playlist will leave you singing and smiling, but we wanted to know a little more, so read below for insight into her class and quirks:

Name: Jaclyn Staub

Nickname: Jackie

Hometown: Originally Longmeadow, Massachusetts, but most recently, New York, New York.

Since you started teaching at uforia fairly recently, what were you doing before?

I was living in NYC and working in the fashion industry. More specifically, I did PR, marketing, and events in-house for the fashion brand, What Goes Around Comes Around.

And how did you end up in Palo Alto?

My husband is attending Stanford’s Graduate School of Business; we are recent East Coast transplants, but are both loving the California lifestyle!

Husband? But you look so young!

I get that a lot. I hope for the rest of my life I look 10 years younger than I actually am. I was married last July and turned 27 in January.

What makes your Revolutions class at uforia different from other classes?

I am motivated by my music, so I typically spend hours putting together the best playlist possible. During class I like to get off the instructor bike to sing, dance and interact with the class, not only for entertainment’s sake, but also to make the experience more personalized. I am very passionate about my job and enjoy every second of every class. I strive to deliver an intense, fun, high-energy workout and like to make sure everyone leaves with a big smile!

How do you maintain a healthy lifestyle?

I try to eat a clean, plant-based, whole food diet. I avoid most animal products except for the occasional piece of fish when dining out (moderation is good too!). I also aim to get a good sweat in every day.

We all need a little cheat-cheat from time to time, so what’s your favorite indulgence?

I have the biggest sweet tooth! Basically anything sweet will do, but at the moment I’m obsessing over dark chocolate covered almonds with sea salt (from Trader Joes).

What are three things that people may not know about you?

1.  I am a super neat freak.

2.  I love to see new places, but I hate the process of getting there.

3.  I have a weakness for horribly embarrassing reality TV shows like The Real Housewives series.

Your favorite Uforia moment:

After a Revolutions workout, when someone takes the time to tell me they either loved the music or  the class and got a great workout!
