5-9

We’re officially open! We made our target date, and had our first uCycle class at 6am on Feb 1.  It was tight considering the bikes did not arrive until 3a that morning (don’t even ask me about why that happened considering we ordered and paid for the bikes over 3 months ago).  All I can say is that I hope the neighbors didn’t hear me on the phone with the bike guy at 2a!

The last few weeks have been crazy, with many 5a-9p days.  They’ve also been so exciting as classes have grown in attendance and I’ve had the chance to meet a lot of really great people.  I’m really excited to have so many wonderful clients who are down to earth and value health and fitness.  The atmosphere at the studio is turning out even better than I imagined with an energetic vibe and groups of friends developing.  There’s basically no drama, and no cliques which given our great instructors shouldn’t surprise me.  It’s really been a fun place to spend some very long days, so thanks to everyone for being so cool!

We had our launch party last Thursday and it was a huge success.  We expected 35 people but had closer to 100!  You can check out the photos on Facebook.  Thanks to my little sis Molly (who’s a superstar event planner – go Lux Events) for making the night run so smoothly.   The space is so great for parties that we’re going to try to do some type of party/customer appreciation event once a quarter.  Any ideas?

The studio’s also been getting some good press with a story in the Palo Alto Patch (here) the Palo Alto Weekly (here) and Facebook (here).  We’ve got an interview with Made in Palo Alto tomorrow so fingers crossed that they decide to do a story!

I’ve definitely had my doubts over the past few weeks, but now that we’re open and the response has been so positive (with the exception of one stubborn yelp reviewer – I think it’s a competitor), I can’t help but feel hopeful for Uforia.  I think it could be really big!  I’ll keep you posted!
